Joburg’s latest venue, bar and nightclub brings elegant clubbing to Rivonia

Joburg’s thirst for an after dark paradise has been answered with the opening of Eden, the sumptuous new venue, bar and nightclub. Cradled at the top of the Rivonia Junction at the corner of Mutual and Rivonia Boulevard in Rivonia, Eden treated the country’s most desirable to a taste of its forbidden pleasures as it opened its doors for an exclusive launch last night.

IT girls Poppy Ntshongwana, Pearl Thusi, Boitumelo Thulo and Dineo Moeketsi sashayed around the 800 capacity club while you could be forgiven for mistaking Carly Fields and Carmel Fisher for modern day Eves. Ladies searching for their ultimate Adam would’ve been pleased with dashing Mr South Africa, Andrew Govender, or the hunky tribe of Bar-One contestants, while fashion kings Gert Johan Coetzee and Craig Jacobs of Fundudzi, musical talents Da Les, DJ Milkshake and Pixie Bennett, and Joburg’s celebrity party cruisers Kuli Roberts, Jennifer Su, Roxy Burger, Tumi Voster and Mika Stefano all added pizazz to the impressive guest list.

With decadent canapés served, the night was opened by MC Jason Greer who introduced one of the country’s hottest acts, the spunky Toya Delazy, who thrilled the crowd with hits from her debut album Due Drop like the radio- favourites “Love Is In The Air” and “Pump It On”.

Spanning three bars, VIP areas and an opulent garden setting with outdoors four poster beds, Eden boasts a state of the art lighting and sound technology to make it the ultimate party venue. The opulent club has been delightfully designed with the tree-lined outside garden leading past walnut walls and tree-trunks onto curving booths that range from intimate two seaters to more expansive 20-seaters – all offering bottle service. Eden will be open on Friday and Saturday nights with resident deejays Floyd, Small Paul and Chris Beats ensuring nights of elegantly clubbing.

Congrats to one of my greatest friend, Thulane Hadebe, for throwing this amazing event that I, unfortunately, could not make. Proud of you, honey-boo-boo child!
